Skimming Surfaces...

Do you have damaged walls that make it impossible to decorate? Skimming could be the answer.

Skimming is essentially a top-coat of plaster which is used to cover-up superficial blemishes and restore the surface of a wall or ceiling to a smooth and level finish. Typically skimming is used where old wallpaper has been removed and caused surface damage, or where there are minor scuffs and abrasions to the surface of a wall or ceiling.

In many cases, we have also fitted new coving to give that extra luxury finish, leaving the surfaces smooth in readiness for the decorators. We like to think we make the decorators life easy – giving them an un-spoilt blank canvass to paint on!

Coving Services...

Coving & cornice is perfect for adding interest to the tops of walls, giving them a stylish and elegant finishing touch to really set off a room. It also avoids the décor looking unfinished and as if there is something missing in the detail of the room.

As some people may be unfamiliar as to what these products are – coving is the name for the plain mould used for decoration, bridging the join between walls and ceilings where cracks can often appear. Whatever style you’re aiming for – whether it’s traditional (Victorian, Edwardian, Georgian, Art Deco) or something more contemporary – decorative coving, cornice and wall panelling is very effective for creating character and enhancing an interior design theme.

Exterior Rendering...

is the term most commonly used for an exterior plaster finish which is applied to the facade and external walls of a building. It consists of a mixture of sand and cement that is applied to the exterior walls of a building as a protective layer against the elements, adding both insulation and a waterproof coat to the building. Rendering can also be used to cover up damaged or unsightly brickwork, breeze blocks, old pebble dashing or to insulate a timber frame construction. It can also be manipulated to create either a smooth or patterned and textured decorative finish to the external wall surfaces of a building.
